How To Jailbreak Your Apple Device Running On iOS 8, iOS 8.1

Though iOS is getting more advanced continuously, there are many iPhone and iPad users who keeps looking for the ways to jailbreak their Apple devices. If you are one of those, read on for Epagloo’s iOS 8 Jailbreaking tutorial here.
Before we get started, it is important to remember that jailbreaking will void your device’s warranty. Jailbreaking is really easy and you will be able to restore the settings of your device. But jailbreaking should not be taken lightly because if something goes wrong, your expensive device will be of no use and you will be responsible for it. If you aren’t feeling good and do not want to take risk, we recommend you enjoy iOS as it is.
If you’re sure you want to enjoy the jailbroken Apple device, then you’ll need an Apple device that runs iOS 8 through 8.1. It includes the latest Apple iPad Air 2, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad mini 3.
Next thing you’ll need is a PC running with Windows. You can also run Windows in a virtual machine. As of now, though, there is no jailbreak tool for iOS 8 working on Mac.
Install iTunes on your PC if you haven’t installed yet. If you don’t have the app installed on your computer, download it from Apple’s download page. Once you’re done, install the application and plug in your iOS device. Wait till the iTunes acknowledges the device.
It is always better to create a backup of your phone. To keep your data protected from mishap, it is always good to perform a backup. iTunes has an option ‘Backup Now.’
For jailbreaking, you will need to download software called Pangu jailbreak tool for iOS 8/8. Visit Pangu team’s website and download the latest version of the application. Once the download is finished, Right click on the application and ‘run as administrator.’
Make sure the application which you’ve recently installed is running in the desired language. The older versions of applications were only able to run in Chinese which was very difficult for others to understand the process. Once you start the application, wait for a few seconds for application to identify your device. Once it is done, click on the blue button “Start Jailbreak”.

After starting the process, sit relaxed because the process might take a few minutes. After the Pangu finishes the work, your device will restart.
Now open Pangu app icon on your iPhone or iPad.
Choose the option “install Cydia”
On the next screen on the upper right corner, you will find “install” option. Click it.
Then you’ll be prompted to “respring” your Apple device. Allow this. Now find the Cydia icon on home screen.
You can see Cydia on your device now. Open it and let it do its thing.
What if you don’t want to use jailbroken device? Following steps should help get you get your device back to stock iOS
- Connect your device to iTunes
- Cancel any auto-syncing.
- Press down the home button and power/sleep button together on your device for just 10 seconds.
- Now, let go of the power/sleep button and continue to hold the home button for next 5 seconds. After that, let go.
- If you do correctly, your device’s screen will turn black and you will see an option for restoring your device.
- Follow the iTunes guidelines to download iOS 8.1.
- Restore the backup you made.
