With a strong competent PK, Tevar is a new challenger at box office, Amit Ravindernath Sharma with his directorial debut is ready with his beautiful attempt in Tevar. The movie will surely help you come out of the hangover of Rajkumar Hirani’s PK. If you have seen the trailer, Tevar is not just the same repeated gang-war drama Bollywood keeps serving the audience. Tevar is a well executed and planned movie that will surely save you from bollywood’s predictable torturous movies.
Director- Amit Ravindernath Sharma
Starcast- Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Manoj Bajpayee
Music- Imraan Khan, Sajid-Wajid
Tevar opens in Agra where a Kabaddi player Pintoo (Arjun) taking part in a Kabaddi Tournament. Arjun Kapoor is shown as a young Kabbadi player. Before Pintoo could proceed, here comes the twist or you can call it a life changing turn when he hits Ganjender Singh (Manoj Bajpayee). Actually Manoj forcefully tries to take Radhika away. The girl Radhika is none other than Sonakshi Sinha.
A local politician, Gajendar Singh is besotted by the beauty and wishes to marry Radhika without knowing her wish. After getting involved in the matter, Pintoo guards Radhika and helps her to reach her hometown Hyderabad. Radhika stars falling in love with him. In the movie, Pintoo’s dad is a police officer who keeps searching for Radhika.
The story may look old and boring but it is somehow different from other masala movies. Tevar is a ‘time-pass’ film and debutant director Amit, who has made commercial advertisements earlier has shown a good command over screenplay.
What to Expect:
Manoj Bajpayee, as we all know stands out when there is a need of playing political, local charaters. Movie has humour, as expected. You can find humour in the scenes between Manoj Bajpayee and Arjun Kapoor. Action lovers will also get to see the fight scenes of these one man armies. The romance between the Arjun and Radhika is as beautiful as it seems off screen. But here you will find less masala in Tevar if you compare with the old movies of Sonakshi.
So you want to know about the performances of these three? Well, Arjun Kapoor has done a sincere job with his performance as Pintoo. Arjun shows the real ‘Tevar’ expected from his character and makes an impact on us. Sonakshi Sinha does well in her act, she has done what her role as Radhika requires. Yes, this movie is better than many of her previous films. Manoj Bajpayee again does a very good job. He shows the desperation. You can see the cunningness of a crazy lover in Gajender Singh.
Music is composed by Sajid-Wajid and Imraan Khan and is absolutely brilliant. ‘Superman,’ and ‘Let’s celebrate’ are the songs that are already topping the chart. Overall, Tevar is a good masala movie with almost each trending elements of Hindi films. More than 140-minutes film will entertain you.
