November 20th, 2014 | by Web Desk
Under the Yash Raj Films banner, the movie Kill Dil was released on November 14, 2014. Featuring Ranveer, Ali Zafar, Govinda and Parineeti and within a week the film has collected around 20 Crore. The movie is considered as an average film. The movie is made on a budget of Rs. 35 Crore. Experts say if the movie doesn’t attract more people in next few days, it would not be able to cover the cost. Shaad Ali, who is the Director of this movie, has tried to experiment a lot of things. He tried to insert comedy in almost every scene. Most of the shots have taken in Noida and Greater Noida, Galgotias University and Gautam Buddha University,
The movie trailer was very impressive and people were expecting it to be a pure Masala entertainment. The movie has drama, action, romance but it is unable to draw more audience. Terrific start by Govinda is appreciated by his fans and his dialogue in this movie – “Moongfali me chhilke aur laundiyon me nakhre na hote, toh zindagi kitni asaan hoti” was also appreciated by his all time fans. But such things aren’t enough to make more people laugh these days. In the movie, Govinda is back with his negative role to the silver screen after his last seen movie was Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty. Ranveer Singh has also played a negative role in Kill Dil. This is not the first time for Ranveer to play a negative character in a movie. Parineeti and Ranveer were seen together in the movie Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. Now, they are back in Kill Dil with their mysterious chemistry in this movie. With a touch of desi thumka Parineeti has played a bold character of Disha. The chocolate personality, Ali Zafar is looking charming.
The story of the movie turns around Dev (Ranveer Singh), Tutu (Ali Zafar), Bhaiyaji (Govinda) and Disha (Parineeti Chopra). Dev and Tutu are working for Bhaiyaji. Dev’s love for disha brings a turning point in their lives. A scene in which Dev comes for an interviews of insurance agent job and he sees Nirupa Roy’s photograph with a camera lingers on her frame bearing the word ‘Founder’ and Alok Nath is playing a role of the Human Resource head. Lame joke! The movie goes immediately down after intermission means hurtling towards a rushed and very convenient climax. The narration is not good due to so many songs.
The Climax is not impressive, it could have been better. As we know romance isn’t new in Yash Raj films. If you watch this movie, you will surely enjoy the first hour and it will make you smile a lot. All we can say is Kill Dill deserves three out of five.
Dialogues are not enough good to entertain people. But a few of them were above average that made people laugh. Such as Parineeti’s ‘Dil khol ke taado’ and Ranveer Singh’s ‘Tabse gun chala raha hu jabse tu apni maa ke andar nahi apne baap ke andar tha.’
Music: The music is one of the best parts of this movie, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Gulzar’s lyrics have convinced people to love the movie more. Total eight songs were recorded for the movie.
One can watch the movie Kill Dil, if you like light comedy drama. Overall the movie doesn’t have that potential to do ‘great’ but it is considered by audience as one time watch movie.
